The Louboutin Red Sole has become one of the most in demand fashion accessories in recent years however, whether worn on board room floors or dance floors, they can show signs of wear over time. As well as restoring scuffs to the leather and offering a range of traditional cobbler services we also can restore the red sole, giving that new shoe feeling all over again.
This client had taken great care of their favourite shoes but of course could not avoid the sole becoming worn, so has booked them into our Clinic for a red sole restoration.
We firstly mask the upper patent element of the shoe to protect this during the process, we seal this by applying pressure along the crease where the sole meets the shoe to ensure every element of the upper shoe is protected.
We then lightly sand the sole of the shoe to remove any flecks of loose colourant and create a smooth as possible base surface before beginning the restoration process.
We are now ready to apply the iconic red colourant which is done using our airbrush technique to ensure a smooth, seamless finish. Although we will use brush work for smaller repairs, this can leave slight brush lines in the pigment, therefore airbrushing fine layers of courant over the sole avoids this creating a smooth high shine finish.
To recreate that straight out of the box feeling we then apply a high gloss protective finish which will also ensure longer lasting results.
We then remove our protective masking and clean the shoes ready to be returned to our client.
